According to the data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of house sales in Turkey decreased by 22.9 percent in September compared to the same period of the previous year and became 113,402. Russian citizens remained at the top of the ranking in housing sales to foreigners.

According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 8 thousand 812 house sales and 7.8 percent share, and Izmir with 6 thousand 338 sales and 5.6 percent share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Hakkari with 40 houses, Ardahan with 49 houses and Gumushane with 98 houses, respectively.

Housing sales increased by 11.4 percent in the January-September period compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1 million 57 thousand 193. Mortgaged house sales across Turkey decreased by 43.0% in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 16 thousand 970. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was 15.0%. Mortgaged house sales in the January-September period, on the other hand, increased by 25.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and became 228 thousand 601. 5,429 of the mortgaged sales in September; 60,777 of the mortgaged sales in the January-September period were first hand sales

36 thousand new houses were sold

The number of first-hand house sales in Turkey decreased by 18.2 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 35 thousand 954. The share of first hand house sales in total house sales was 31.7 percent. In the January-September period, the first hand house sales increased by 8.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 312 thousand 118. Second-hand house sales in Turkey decreased by 24.9 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 77 thousand 448. The share of second-hand housing sales in total housing sales was 68.3 percent. Second-hand house sales in the January-September period increased by 12.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 745 thousand 75.

Russians rank first in sales to foreigners

Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 23.8 percent in September compared to the same month of the previous year and became 5 thousand 49. In September, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 4.5 percent. Istanbul took the first place in house sales to foreigners with the sales of 1,795 houses. Antalya was followed by Antalya with 1,585 house sales and Mersin with 335 house sales, respectively. Citizens of the Russian Federation bought 1,196 houses from Turkey. The citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by Iran with 592 houses, Iraq with 433 houses, Germany with 225 houses, Kazakhstan with 207 houses and Ukraine with 204 houses.
